BIOGRAPHY IRENE PRADA

Irene Prada
1964 (Madrid)


Irene Prada was born in Madrid, 1964.
Irene started her creative life as a fashion designer. She was graduated by the Italian School of Design Fashion in Madrid, in 1981. During more than 5 years become one of the main Designers of the British and European Royal Families, including in her prestigious customer portfolio Princess Ana, Alexandra of Kent and Margaret Thatcher etc.

In 1997 Irene swift from her fashion skills into the printmaking world. She started to develop her skills in some of Madrid’s prestigious printmaking galleries. She learnt from Jose Rincón, Brita Prinza at her gallery & workshop. Irene also dedicated time to study lithography with Juan Pablo Villalpando, Silkscreen with Mariano Durante and fotopolimer & woodcut with Graciela Buratti. Her exquisite and unique prints are the result of her expertise in these disciplines.

Irene Prada’s work is a combination of her fashion and printmarking skills; exudes energy and movement through an expressive use of line, a good example of this combination is her shoe collection.

Irene exhibits regularly in different solo and group exhibitions:
*Madrid: Estandarte Gallery, Brita Prinz Galleryi, ESTAMPA trade fair & Artendencias in Madrid etc.
*Overseas: Aichi Prefectual Musseum in Tokyo; Pool Art in New York, Aff in London.

At present Irene Prada´s work resides in collections worldwide including the Spanish Foreign Office and in more than 15 Spanish Embassies around the world.
